Kerman Rug Kerman Carpet Restoration

We received a huge 12' x 23' hand knotted Persian Kerman carpet for cleaning and restoration. It was dirty, full of dust and also with glue on the back. Probably it was thought that the glue could save the rug and protect it from falling apart. We washed, cleaned and sanitized the rug first and one of our master weavers started the process by making the foundation based on which he could tie the knots. To re-weave the damaged areas we had to use the other healthy corner of the rug as a model and sample to follow the design which was very detailed in this particular Kerman rug.

It took us 45 days to restore the rug and our customer was overwhelmed when he saw the rug in our store. I loved that moment when he was smiling and trying unsuccessfully to identify the restored corner. That is why I love my job. I love to see happy customers who appreciate what we do for them and for their rugs.
