I visited the Atlanta Rug Market for three days from July 9th to 11th, 2014. It was Summer and the market was very slow and a very limited number of buyers were around.
Many exhibitors had look alike and similar rugs. I am posting some the pictures of these rugs below.
In many showrooms, you would see silver/gray tones with accents of artificial silk. Some of these producers/importers have invented exotic names such as banana silk, coconut silk, cactus silk, and customers think these are real natural silk which they are not.
There was an expert rug ID panel session on the 4th floor in the Oriental Rug Retailers' of America.
Like in any other show, some showrooms were a little busy while it was slow in other showrooms.
