Antique Signed Amoghli Mashad Carpet Rug

We have a beautiful signed Amoghli Mashad carpet in our showroom here in Los Angeles. The size of this antique hand knotted Persian Mashad rug  is 9' 11" x 13' 5" and considering the age, it is in good condition. This was probably made in the late 1920's in the city of Mashad in north east Iran. Amoghli brothers were originally from Tabriz who migrated to Mashad, a holly city with Imam Reza's Shrine. The younger brother was named Ali Khan and the older one was Abdol Mohammad. The quality of the weave, dye, and wool was very high and the royal court of Iran was one of their repeat clients. There were several of Amoghli carpets in the palaces of the Shah of Iran.
This particular rug which we have for sale on the behalf of our client is signed "Amoghli 110" which was the signature of Ali Khan Amoghli. The foundation of this rug is cotton and the pile is made of Lamb's wool. It has a one-inch silk guarding borders on the sides to protect the rug from damages. The design of this rug is corner central medallion with flowers and details. The design is also similar to the Ardabil carpets of Victoria & Albert Museum of London and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, LACMA. Our asking price for this museum quality antique Mashad Amoghli carpet is $38,500.
