One of the benefits of running a family business in Los Angeles is the connection I am able to make with my customers. As busy as I am, instead of sending a worker, I pick up every rug for cleaning, rug repair, stain removal, etc. myself and deal with every customer in person. On the days that I have meetings, I send my son to pick up the rugs. When I see the customer, I learn about them and connect with them. If they struggle with the payment, I try to work something out. When a rug of a customer needs extra care, I provide that at no charge. If a rug is not worth repairing or cleaning, I let the customer know. I do this because of my passion for rugs and my customers. If I send a worker, as if a robot, he will simply pick up that one rug for what ever the customer asks for, should it be cleaning or repair.
