Water Damaged Rug - A Rug Rescue

Last week a customer brought in a rug of hers that had just gone through some water damage. She was away for the weekend and when she returned home, her whole apartment had flooded due to a water pipe breaking. While removing the rug from her living room, she placed it in her backyard. Unfortunately it was not dried flat, so bubbling of the rug occurred. Not only that but it was hard water that damaged the rug so it's texture was very rough/hard. Take a look below:

The owner thought her rug was a complete loss, but we put her mind at ease. What this rug needed was a thorough deep cleaning, which involves a complete wet washing. We went to work right away on the rug and  after we completed the natural drying it was a completely different rug. Take a look below:

Not only did we get all the bubbling out, but after our deep cleaning the pile is nice and soft again as well as being sanitized and deodorized. Our customer was so happy that she did not have to call this rug a loss. It now looks brand new and is ready for many more years of use. Cleaning and Repair - Handknotted Rug

We had a return customer bring 4 handknotted pieces in recently to be deep cleaned; one of those pieces needed some extra attention. The ends of the rug in question had major unraveling happening and the design was already being lost. This advanced stage of unraveling needed to be stopped right away so that the rest of the rug could avoid such damage. Take a look at the before pics below:

We first secured the damaged areas so any further damage could be avoided while it was being deep cleaned. After the rug was finished going through our deep cleaning process, we started work on getting the ends into shape. One of our weavers did all the work by hand and the pics speak for themselves. This handknotted rug looks great because of the deep cleaning and also is now strong and secure with the work done to repair the ends. Our customer was once again thoroughly excited with the results and was happy that the damage that had progressively getting worse over the last couple years, had stopped. Custom Rug Job - Making of a Runner

The owner recently did some reorganizing in her home and found a perfect spot for a wide runner. Kyrgyzstan Rug - Reweaving Magic/Securing

A wife came in a few weeks ago distraught because her new dog chewed on a very special rug of her husbands, leaving in tattered in many places. Take a look below:

After calming the wife down we stepped her through what options were available. The best way to bring this rug back to its original shape was to do reweaving on all the spots that had been eaten away; and this is exactly what she opted for. We let our one of our master weavers start on the job and in just a couple weeks we had results that would totally astonish the owner. Take a look at the results below:

As you can see all the bitten off pieces have been rewoven beautifully and the ends were secured to make the foundation even stronger. Our customer was absolutely thrilled; we later found out that the husband had exactly the same sentiments. Sarouk Rug Cleaning - WOW!

A family came in with a few rugs recently; one of them was a Persian Sarouk Rug that had MANY stains. Take a look at some pics below:

The Sarouk was a mess, littered with stains. The customers opted for a deep cleaning which we started soon afterwards. Our facility handles all types of rugs and we knew just how to tackle this stain problem for the Sarouk. Take a look at the results below:
