A shag rug was brought into our store last week to be professionally deep cleaned. This rug had not been cleaned in about 5 years and had no visible stains that were immediately apparent but it seemed to have an even layer of dust and dirt that had collected on it. It made the entire rug look a dark grey color which we thought might actually be the color of the rug. Take a look below:

Shag rugs require extra attention as the pile is very high and thick. It must be thoroughly wet washed in order to get all the dirt that has accumulated out of the rug. We put the shag through our deep cleaning process and to our amazement the shag was actually once(and now again) a different color. Take a looked at the clean shag below:
After our cleaning the pile was fluffy again and the color had been restored to its original condition. Shags beware! A layer of dirt is no match for the deep cleaning at Rug Ideas!

Do you know anything about cleaning sheepskin shag rugs? I recently bought one online from Sheepskin Town, and I was wondering if I need to buy the special cleaner they sell, or if there's another way to clean the carpet?
Hi Nathan. Can you send me your e-mail?
