Rug Market in Los Angeles

Rug market is very slow these days in Los Angeles. I believe this is not only Los Angeles or California, it is slow everywhere, and it is not only rugs, other professions are also suffering from lack of sales and low cash flow. What should we do? Should we sit idle and wait for a miracle to happen? Should we wait for the government to fix the economic mess?

We receive many inquiries from those who want to sell their rugs these days. But there are too little customers who have cash and desire to buy rugs. Should these sellers put their rugs in the trunk of their cars and drive around and go to all rug dealers in town to offer their carpets for sale?

Hot Summer Day and Cold Rug Market in Los Angeles

I was going to the post office at 2:00 pm today and it was 98 degrees. Very hot day in Los Angeles. The rug market has been very slow. We hang a 5' x 8' rug outside of our store every day and put it on sale for $69. We change the rug everyday if it is not sold so when we say "Today Only", our customers do not lose their trusts on us.

Rugs, Market, and Gas Prices in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills

On may 28, 2008 I posted couple of photos from a gas station in Beverly Hills. The Premium gas price was $4.76 which I thought was very high. I happened to pass by that gas station again yesterday. The Premium gas price was $497!!! That is unbelievable!! Soaring gas prices is decreasing the purchasing power of the people and this has effected our rug market severely here in Los Angeles. Our rug cleaning and repair market is also effected by this lowering purchasing power of the people.

Rug Cleaning, Rug Repair, Slow Rug Market Los Angeles

It has been very slow lately in Los Angeles. It has been Easter and few other religious and cultural holidays as well as spring break for many schools here. We were busy with few rug sales and rug cleaning and repair. It has been quiet and nothing exciting or major has happened.
