Certified Rug Specialists

It is easy to lie, but difficult to prove if you're a Certified Rug Specialist. Some wall to wall carpet cleaners or those who have a one-man show and operate out of their bedrooms without mentioning their names or their locations (that they do not have) claim that they are expert, and certified. They are brokers who outsource the work to others and only have a 1-800 number. Sometimes they claim that they have been in rug business since decades ago, yet they dare mention their names on their websites which are full of lies and copies from other legitimate websites.

Let us see if they can post a copy of their certificates or credentials.

Cat Pee Cat Urine Stain on Rugs

What would you do if your cat pees all over your house and on your rugs and carpets? Do you banish her from your house? Do you want to do some homework? First, see if she has a health issue or if it is a behavioral and territorial matter.

I was browsing the internet to find some literature on rug cleaning, pet stain removal, pet urine stains and stuff like this and I ran into a very interesting article. Click on the link below to read it:

BNI and the Iranian American Chamber of Commerce

Joint Meeting of Iranian American Chamber of Commerce and BNI
Monday June 14, 2010 at the Beverly Hills Country Club

We had a wonderful meeting and pleasant evening with our guests from Business Network International. This is the welcome message to our members and guests:

"Good evening everybody. My name is Dr. Khosrow Sobhe, Dr. Kay. I am the president of the Coalition of Iranian Entrepreneurs also known as Iranian American Chamber of Commerce.

Our chamber was established in 1986. The mission of our non-profit organization is to promote networking and business among Iranian individuals and entities. In today's global village, we cannot operate and work in vacuum; therefore part of our efforts are focused on mutual interaction with non-Iranian businesses as well to expand our work horizon.

As president, I am extremely excited about the opportunities that lay ahead of us. Together and with utilizing our potentials and strengths, I am sure we can overcome the very many challenges that current economic conditions may present. There is an absolute light at the end of this tunnel.

We are fortunate to have outstanding Iranian businessmen and women as members of our chamber. Seven of these very capable members are on the board of directors. This gives us the necessary tools to achieve our goals. Our weekly Monday meetings with having distinguished speakers and guests will continue to serve as one of our main networking tools.

On behalf of the board of directors and our members I would like to welcome our friends and guests from BNI, Business Network International. I have no intention of explaining what BNI is and does. That is the job of Mr. Dave Rittenhouse, the Assistant Director of BNI4Success who just returned from a national conference. He has so much to say about this wonderful organization and its new and revolutionary concept. We also have the pleasure of having Mrs. Teresa Agnew, the President of BNI, Money Makers chapter. She will tell us what that chapter does.

I am glad that I joined BNI few months ago. It is like a big family with having a big and professional sales force working for you without getting paid by you. How does that work? Our friends from BNI will tell us about it".

After my welcome, Dave Rittenhouse talked about how BNI works and how we can have a successful networking. Teresa Agnew also talked about Money Makers chapter which holds the Silver Chapter title. She asked the chapter members to introduce themselves. We had 13 members from the chapter who participated in the event.

Dr. Mark Ameli who is running for the Superior Judge of the County of Los Angeles was also in the meeting and gave a brief report of his campaign. He will be one of the two candidates on November 2nd election in California. On the primary election on June
8th 2010, he ran against seven other candidates.

Sanction Against Persian Rugs Carpets

Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability, and Divestment Act of 2010 will become effective on September 29, 2010

President Obama signed the Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability, and Divestment Act on July 1st, 2010. As a result, the embargo on the importation of Iranian-made carpets will become effective on September 29, 2010, that is 86 days (2 months 24 days) from today.

This is the date of importation which determines if an imported carpet is subject to the sanction. The date of export from Iran is not important as the date of entry of the rugs to the U.S. port is only counted. This is does not only ban the import of rugs from Iran; it also includes all types of Persian rugs imported from other countries as well. For example this will include import of Iranian rugs from Europe or anywhere else. To prevent from being caught in the embargo, Persian carpets must enter the U.S. before September 29, 2010.

The last sanction against Iranian rugs was imposed in 1987 and lasted for 13 years. This embargo was wisely lifted by President Clinton in March 2000. It did not hurt the Iranian government as Persian rugs are produced by the private and not the public sector. It also benefited the smugglers who imported Persian rugs from around the world to the U.S by either bringing them in from the borders or by providing false documents. This will be a very good news for the smugglers!!
