A Phone Call From Baghdad and a Silk Persian Qum Rug

It was Saturday today here in Los Angeles. I received a phone call early morning from Baghdad, Iraq from a US army personnel who was going to come home in a few days. He would like to buy a silk Qum Persian rug from Baghdad and he wanted to get some information about this kind of rug and its price. The design as he mentioned is the dome design, which is inspired by the inside ceilings of mosques, which typically feature colorful and star shaped ceilings. Dome is the synonymous for Gonbad in Farsi. This design is made after the interior design of the Sheikh Lotfofflah Mosque in Isfahan. Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque was an architectural masterpieces of Safavid era built in 1615 by the order of Shah Abbas I of the Safavid dynasty in Isfahan, Iran. The mosque was dedicated to Sheikh Lotfollah, a preacher who was the Shah Abbas' father-in-law.

I asked this army personnel to e-mail me few pictures from the rug, back and face and from the signature of the weaver and told him first, he should be concerned with the good condition of the rug and whether the rug is a genuine Persian rug or a fake one. Then we should be concerned about the price. He said he could e-mail me the photos in one day and I said I would get back to him immediately after I receive the pictures.

This gentleman had googled information about silk Persian rug and had found my rug blog and then my web site. Isn't this interesting and fun. This gives me more incentive to write on rugs in my blog!

Rug Blog Rug Blogs Are Not Updated!

Some times I look for other rug blogs to read and study on the Internet. I do not find them updated. Why? The publishers do not have time, or since the Oriental, Persian and area rugs market is slow, they do not have the feeling to write. I do not have the answer. I will try to write if I have something to say and if my time permits.

Rug Master, Rug Blogs, Rug Blog

My rug blog, RugMaster.blogspot.com had 43 visitors yesterday. That is great! This is what I could never imagine when I started my rug blog in Los Angeles few months ago. What a nice way to communicate with my unknown friends from around the world. Another good point; if you type "rug blogs" in Google, my blog is number one blog on the Internet. WOW!

For a long time, I wanted to have a diary, but I did not know how to write and mange it and where to put it to be handy. I found the solution few months ago and started my blog, RugMaster.blogspot.com

Now, I have a wonderful online note book diary, easy to write in and easy to mange. I can also share it with many other new and unknown friends. In a former post, I wrote about sized bedar in Balboa Park north of Los Angeles, when Iranians celebrated the 13th day of Nworuz, the new Persian year. Persians go to the nature on the 13th day of their new year to get red of all bad things. Someone called me from San Francisco and asked a question. He had found my web log and had read my posts and called me. I receive calls and e-mails from many places from those who happen to visit my web log. That is great.

Tapestry Tapestries Los Angeles

Tapestry Tapestries in Los Angeles

We recently acquired different collection of tapestries made in the U.S. and Europe in different designs and sizes. They are diverse and include traditional and contemporary designs. While our prices are competitive, our tapestries are of high quality and are hand picked and selected from different collections. We do not import or buy our tapestries in bulk. We select each tapestry one by one.

Visit our tapestry collection online or in store and decorate your home with art and culture. It has been few centuries since architects, designers, artists, home owners, and other types of people discovered tapestries and have used them to decorate their homes and walls. Tapestry, as a world-class wall décor, adds dramatic accent to the large open foyers, expansive fireplaces, and high ceiling rooms found in many homes today. With hardwood, tile and other hard surfaces being the trend in today's homes, tapestry provides excellent sound absorption and noise reduction.

Each of our tapestries at RugIdea.com is finished with elegant and fine backing and generous rod pocket for easy hanging. www.RugIdea.com (Los Angeles) also provides you with the rods, finials and other accessories for your convenience.

Our tapestries are made based on old techniques, but not for old castles and mansions. They are made for today's homes!
