Shag Rug, Shag Carpet Cleaning in Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley

Shag rugs with high piles were very popular in the 1980's but they're back again. Hand washing and deep cleaning of them is our specialty. We dust them first in our stat-of-the-art tumble duster to make sure all the dust, dirt, dry soil and allergens are removed. Then we wash them with pressure washer on the back and face. The next step is shampooing ans enzyming them followed with thorough rinsing to make sure no residue is left in the construction. After this comes the extraction of water by our centrifuge machine and then drying. This is the traditional way combined with the modern technology. 

After they are completely dry, we do inspection and quality control to make sure the job is done properly and your rug looks its best. If needed, rugs would be washed again or more detailing, stain removal and post service jobs will be done of course at no extra cost.

Why use a rug pad for your rug?

Rug pads prolong the life of your rug:
A rug takes a lot of stress as it is being walked on. When walking on a rug the fibers get pushed down against the hard floor underneath and this can eventually lead to wear. A rug pad acts as a protective barrier between your rug and floor and takes much of the stress. The back of a rug, particularly hand made rugs, consists of knots. Without a rug pad these knots can rub and wear against the floor causing premature wear. The rug pad prevents this wear and prolongs the life of your rug.

Rug pads protect the floor:

The back of many rugs is rough or scratchy and without a rug pad, this can lead to damage to your floor. Along with protecting floors from scratches, rug pads also protect from indentations. Many rugs have heavy furniture on them and sometimes this can lead to indentations of your floor. The proper rug pad will resist this weight and prevent any damage.

Many rugs tend to slip and slide. This is especially true of smaller rugs or runners. The right non slip rug pad not only adds all the benefits mentioned above, it also prevents slipping, making for a safe home.

Zebrahide Full Cleaning and Restoration

We don’t like killing animals for their skins and that’s why we don’t go hunting. But we specialize in restoring exotic hides/skins. Maybe with restoring these damaged hides, we prevent our customers to go to the market to look for new hides!!

We received this extremely damaged zebrahide from a client. It was falling apart. We washed, patched, and repaired it. We put a new backing with a waterproof fabric for extra protection. We also sewed canvas straps on the edges by hand to prevent it from curling.

Oriental Carpet Manufacturers OCM Kerman Rug in Los Angeles

Some of the rugs we receive for servicing are ordinary rugs and some of them are absolutely gorgeous and outstanding with histories and stories. This rug is one of the good ones from Kerman made in the workshop of Oriental Carpet Manufacturers OCM after they opened up their offices and workshops in Iran in 1911. This hand knotted Persian Kerman rug belongs to a celebrity client of ours and we just washed and restored it. This was a big piece of 12' x 18'. 

There were a group of British entrepreneurs who opened up offices and workshops in Turkey to make and import hand made rugs to reply to the growing demand for Oriental rugs. They then expanded their work and entered the Iranian carpet production.

Rug Ideas Employees' Appreciation Night

Rug Ideas Employees' Appreciation Night with those who could attend the event at Flame International Restaurant, on Santa Monica Blvd. in Los Angeles was a lot of fun last night. The only thing we did not talk about was rugs.

Most of the talk was about food in general and Persian food specifically. We started with several Persian appetizers followed by different dishes, kabobs, and stews.
