Hand knotted silk Persian Isfahan rug (Polonaise group), 5' 7" x 7' 5 (170 x 231 cm) late 16th century, Safavid Iran belonging to tobacco tycoon Doris Duke was sold by Christie's Auction House in New York on June, 3rd, 2008 for $4,450,000. The buyer was anonymous.

Hand knotted Persian Kerman rug, vase design, 5' x 11' 1" (153 x 339 cm) mid 17th century, Safavid Iran was sold by Christie's Auction House in London on April 17th, 2010 for $9,600,000. The buyer was anonymous.

Hand knotted Persian Kerman carpet, sickle leaf design 6' 5" x 8' 9" (196 x 267 cm) early 17th century, Safavid Iran, belonging to American billionaire and senator William Clark in early 20th century then donated to Corcoran Museum in Washington D.C.,  was sold by Sotheby's Auction House in New York on June, 5th, 2013 for the record of $33,765,000. The buyer was anonymous.

These look like they are in great shape. I have some that are similar abut I have put off doing rug repair in Toronto for quite some time now.
