Rug Ideas Custom Made Pillows

Besides selling all types of rugs, runners as well as tapestries in our Los Angeles showroom, we also have some unique items and today we'd like to show you our custom made pillows! They are all stitched together by hand by one of our master weavers and can compliment many areas of a household. These pillows can be used on a bed, on a couch or stacked together to make a comfortable area of pillow bliss. Take a look at these wonderful pieces below:

These pillows have a great look and will brighten up any room. They also make fantastic gifts for a birthday, anniversary or for that special somebody. We have also done custom pillow jobs for customers who had old rugs that only had pieces that were salvageable, took those pieces and made one off pillows out of them. And Then There Was Two

A law office contacted us recently with a custom job request. They had a rug they wanted to use in their lobby/welcoming area but it was too large! It was a 5 x 8 rug but the largest the room could fit was a 5 x 5. Well, they brought the rug to right place because we here at Rug Ideas have done downsizing countless times before. We discussed where to do the cut during our initial conversation to make sure the rug would look great. Take a look at the before pics below:

After carefully taping the area to be cut we started work on the separation. One of our master weavers cut the rug by hand and started on binding the cut ends so that the final product would be 2 great looking, functioning rugs. We used top of the line New Zealand wool to do the binding and everything was done by hand. Take a look at the results below:

The 2 rugs look great and not only that, it's impossible to tell that they were 1 rug to begin with. The lawyer just set these down in his office yesterday and gave us a call to exclaim how happy he was with his rugs. Custom Repair - Nepalese Rug

We had a custom repair request come in last week involving a beautiful Nepalese rug. The owner had purchased the rug in New York and had it for many years but one thing bothered her enough over time to find out her options of customizing the rug. The problem was the fringes; they were always getting caught in her vacuum. The fringes had become battered because of this and the owner was just tired of dealing with them. Take a look below:

She explained her problem to us at our showroom and we told her we could definitely get rid of the fringe and secure the ends with binding just like on the sides of the rug. She was ecstatic with this idea and immediately said yes to the idea; after our deep cleaning of course(we always recommend cleaning your rug before doing repairs so that you get a fresh, clean, repaired rug back). All the binding was done by hand by one of our master weavers; take a look at the results below:

Needless to say our customer was extremely happy with how everything turned out. She no longer has to deal with the fringes and she was very happy with her new custom rug. It is vibrant from the deep cleaning and is not going to cause her the headaches from trying to prevent the fringes from being sucked in by her vacuum. Custom Rug Job - Making of a Runner

At Rug Ideas we help rug owners get their pieces cleaned, repaired, secured & rewoven every day. We also do custom jobs like the one in today's post. A woman came in a few days ago with 3 area rugs that she had been using in her house. Take a look below:

The owner recently did some reorganizing in her home and found a perfect spot for a wide runner. The width  of the area rugs she brought in was perfect for the space and she decided that she wanted to have these pieces sewn together so that she could have a custom made runner that fir perfectly with her decor. We got to work on it right away and in just a couple days we had a new custom runner finished. Check out the results:

The owner was very excited to see her new custom runner and was ecstatic that she had now had a runner that was extra wide to fit her home space perfectly.
