Rug Water Damage Restoration Los Angeles

It has been raining in Los Angeles since few days ago. We have received several rugs which were damaged by water for cleaning and color restoration. Some of these rugs were left in the garages or parking spaces. Some were in homes with floods.

First, we have to extract the water to prevent the rug to get mold or color run and bleeding. Then we have to wash the rug with ample pure water, shampoo and special type of enzyme to take care of the dirt and bacteria deposited in the pile. Then we rinse the rug thoroughly to make sure there is no residue left in the carpet. Drying is the last step. We have to make sure that the rug is completely dry before we deliver the rug; otherwise it would smell.

Ardabil Carpet in Los Angeles County Museum of Art, LACMA

Tomorrow, Monday Jan. 18, 2010 is the last day of Ardabil and Coronation carpets on display in Los Angels County Museum of Art LACMA. Today is Sunday and I will go to work from 12:00 to 4:00 pm. I am planning to pay my last visit to these two masterpieces and say goodbye to them. It is unknown when LACMA puts these two rugs on display again. Maybe in 5 years, 10 years; who knows when?

I was lucky to visit twice the Ardabil carpet and the Coronation carpet in November and December 2009. They looked great on their temporary platform in LACMA.
