Persian Kashan Rug, Carpet Cleaning and Repair at Rug Ideas in Los Angeles

We received a 5' x 7' Persian Kashan rug from a client for cleaning and repair. Part of the fringes at the top were missing and the rug looked very dirty. Kashan is a very famous and old city in north central Iran in the province of Isfahan. Kashan has a long history and tradition of making high quality rugs which goes back to hundreds of years ago.

We hand washed the rug after it was dusted to make sure dust and dry soil was out. Dusting is a very important step that should be taken first in cleaning rugs. Otherwise we give the rug a bath in its own mud.  After our deep hand wash, we made sure that the rug was completely dry. We then assigned one of our technicians to do the re-fringing. Fringes had to be implanted into the rug foundation one by one. It took us a day and a half to finish the repair job.

The result was very good and looked like the damage never happened to the rug. Our client was very happy with the quality of the re-fringing job and our customer service.

Persian Kashan Rug, Iranian Kashan Carpet repair in Los Angeles

A client brought in an old Persian Kashan rug they had in the family. The rug was bought by his father decades ago in Iran. It was dirty and dusty, and needed professional deep cleaning. Part of the fringes at one end was also damaged.

We hand washed the rug by sending it through our 10-step process. Our professional deep and hand washing process which is different from others works in the following way:

-First we inspect incoming rugs to determine the best way to clean/restore them, and then we take digital photos (before & after). Rugs are dusted to loosen/remove the dirt, and dust.

-It then goes for shampooing, using special enzymes that are non-toxic.

-A thorough water bath rinsing follows and the final step is natural drying.

Our technique is superior to others as we do not do dry, steam, or surface cleaning like wall-wall carpet cleaners.

After the cleaning, one of our master repair personnel on site did the re-fringing and repair of the damaged end. He had to find the right kind of cotton thread as regards with the color, thickness, and the construction to match with the other parts of the fringe at the same end.

Last night, we had a wonderful Summer Party in the Camden House restaurant in Beverly Hills. The event was sponsored by the Coalition of the Iranian Entrepreneurs, which serves as the Iranian-American chamber of commerce in Los Angeles. There was plenty of Persian food, music and raffles. I had provided a very fine Kashan rug, 3 x 5 foot to be given away by raffle. Sheriff Leroy Baca of the Los Angeles county was the guest of honor and the keynote speaker for the evening. He talked about security and safety. He delivered a very fine speech and talked about his early experiences with Persian culture.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Leroy D. Baca was born in East Los Angeles on May 27, 1942. Believing strongly in education, Sheriff Baca continued his studies. In 1993 Sheriff Baca graduated from the University of Southern California with a Doctorate of Public Administration. He is a life member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi - USC Chapter.On December 7, 1998, Sheriff Baca was sworn in as Los Angeles County's 30th Sheriff, having been elected by the citizens of Los Angeles County. Sheriff Baca commands the largest Sheriff's Department in the world and supervises more than 13,000 sworn and civilian personnel.

The University of Southern California, USC is my university. I got my second master's degree and my Ph.D. from this fine school. So Sheriff Baca and I are both TROJANS!

Every body enjoyed the speech, Persian food and the music. The event started at 6:00 pm and ended around 11:00 pm.
