It is almost 2:00 am and I just finished publishing a post on my animal carpet blog on the mysterious Pazyryk carpet. Writing and reading about Pazyryk is very exciting as there are many questions to be answered.
This rug is too complicated to be woven by peasants or nomads of 2400-2500 years ago, few centuries before Christ was even born! Since rug weaving techniques and skills evolve extremely slowly, it can be said that the history of knotted rug weaving goes way back before the Pazyryk carpet was made.
