Rug, Animal Hide and Textile Company in Los Angeles

This is what we do and do not do:

Our 3^rd generation family Rug, Animal Hide and Textile Company has 67 years of history. We do not provide in-house services. On-site cleaning of movable rugs defeats the purpose of cleaning as we cannot thoroughly dust, wash and rinse out the shampoo which will collect sticky dirt after it dries. They cannot be properly dry on your floor as well and creates the chance to mold to grow in their construction.

We have a 10-Step Wash Process with hypoallergenic dusting and actual hand washing and deep cleaning in our own state-of-the-art facility with brand new equipment in Van Nuys. Unlike many others, we do not outsource. We’re the SOURCE.

We’re the only Certified Master Rug Cleaner in the Greater Los Angeles with three generations of  history and passion since 1953. We use human/pet/nature friendly tested/certified shampoos and enzymes. Besides we rinse all the rugs we wash few rounds to make sure there is no residue left in the constructions.

The cost of hand washing and deep cleaning of your rugs will be based on the size, texture and condition. When we see the rugs, we’ll tell you the exact cost upfront. There are no surprise calls regarding new discoveries and extra charges. There will be no sales tax. We disinfect all the rugs these days with EPA Registered disinfectant.

Oriental Carpet Manufacturers OCM Kerman Rug in Los Angeles

Some of the rugs we receive for servicing are ordinary rugs and some of them are absolutely gorgeous and outstanding with histories and stories. This rug is one of the good ones from Kerman made in the workshop of Oriental Carpet Manufacturers OCM after they opened up their offices and workshops in Iran in 1911. This hand knotted Persian Kerman rug belongs to a celebrity client of ours and we just washed and restored it. This was a big piece of 12' x 18'.

There were a group of British entrepreneurs who opened up offices and workshops in Turkey to make and import hand made rugs to reply to the growing demand for Oriental rugs. They then expanded their work and entered the Iranian carpet production.

This is just a sample of what was removed from a couple of rugs prior to our thorough wash.

Our snow white wash floor shows all the dust, dirt and the contamination that come out of the rugs we professionally wash with tested/certified shampoos and enzymes.

Los Angeles Rug Cleaning, Anther 5-Star Yelp Review

Gail A.
Calabasas, CA

5.0 star rating 3/27/2015

I don't often give companies 5 stars - but everything and everyone associated with Los Angeles Rug Cleaning deserves this rating.  They are knowledgeable, professional and reasonable; and customer service is beyond compare.  My kilim rug was tattered and dirty after one of our dogs took a liking to it.  Dr. Kay and his miracle workers transformed it once again into a thing of beauty.  I will be delivering several more of my Persian rugs to them for moth-proofing and cleaning.

Rug Repair in Los Angeles. Sometime Patch Is the Solution

We can almost re-weave all types of rugs and damages. However, re-weaving is expensive as our master weavers have to spend time to match the color, design, and construction of the rug. In some cases, we have done and used patches which are less expensive.

This Hamedan rug was not financially worth it but our client loved it. She could not afford re-weaving.

So we patched it and she was very happy with the result.

This machine made Karastan rug was rotten due to a planter and constant watering. It could not be re-woven as it was machine made, but we could save it and make it look better.

We discussed the patch option and our client liked the idea. So we patched it and he loved the new look of the carpet.

This was another Hamedan rug brought in by a client. We cleaned it first and then told her about patch option.

We patched it and when she came to pick it up, was very happy. She gave us a Persian Bakhtiar carpet for cleaning. She left with a big smile on her face.

If you have a rug with an ugly hole in it, bring it in or send us a picture of it. We maybe able to re-weave or patch it and bring it back to life.

Rug Repair at Rug Ideas

Like every other usable item, rugs need care and maintenance. They are made of cotton, wool, silk, jute or other materials and textures that get damaged by use and foot traffic. If damages are not taken care of in time, they get bigger and more damages will be done to your valuable rugs. A good repair and fixing the damages by an expert repairman or woman extends the life of your rug and adds to its beauty.

We at Rug Ideas have over 60 years of experience with rugs and have repair personnel on site. We can almost do any kind of rug repair on hand made Oriental and Persian rugs. We also deal with the repair of area rugs and machine made rugs. We have different options for different budgets. For example, we can completely re-weave a hole which is caused by foot traffic or can patch it.

We do stain removal and touch ups on some rugs which need to look better. Here I am posting pictures of before and after touch up of a Persian rug which we did at a very affordable cost for one of our clients.

You can send us pictures of your rugs or bring them in for a free consultation for repair or stain removal. In many cases we have different options for you and repair can be done in less than a week.
