Some rugs are dropped off at our state-of-the-art facility in Van Nuys, north of Los Angeles. Some rugs are picked up by our crew. Some are are shipped to us from out of states. Professional Rug Cleaning By a Certified Master Rug Cleaner in Los Angeles

We do not provide in-house services such as wall-wall carpet cleaning, dry, steam, or surface cleaning. On-site cleaning of movable rugs defeats the purpose of cleaning. We cannot spray detergents, extract part of it, and leave the rug half wet on your floor to smell. In-home cleaned rugs will have rapid re-soiling due to the residue left in the them. 

We do actual hand washing and deep cleaning in our own state of the art facility with brand new equipment in Van Nuys. Unlike many others, we do not outsource. We’re the SOURCE. We have 66 years of experience with rugs/kilims/tapestries, and animal hides. We are the only Certified Master Rug Cleaner in the greater Los Angeles area. We own, and run a 3rd generation full service growing rug company. We use human/pets/nature friendly tested/certified shampoos and enzymes. 

When we see each rug, we measure it and tell you the exact cost upfront. You will not receive surprise calls from us regarding new discoveries and extra charges. We do not play games! Since this is a service and not sales, there will be no sales tax for this. You can bring your rug in; simply fold it in half, and roll it to become small to fit into your car. Rug Ideas and Professional Rug Cleaning in Los Angeles and in Van Nuys

Professional Rug Cleaning, Rug Repair in Los Angeles. Rug Down Sizing

A long time customer brought in a Turkish rug for cleaning and repair. She also said she was moving to a smaller place and wanted to down-size her rug from 9' x 12' to 6' x 9'. She wanted the rug to have a balanced and symmetric design after down-sizing. It was a beautiful rug with a nice geometric medallion in the center. The construction was wool on wool so it felt very soft and pliable.

We assigned one of our master repair personnel to do the measurement and cutting first The bindings on all four sides were done by high quality imported New Zealand wool. She did not like fringes and said they would get dirty and damaged by foot traffic and vacuuming.

She loved the down sizing when she came in to pick up the rug. We gave her a rug pad to keep the rug in its new place on her newly installed hardwood floor. Our  top of the line rug pads extend the life of rugs and provide a nice cushioning.

Dirtiest rugs of 2010

We are approaching the end of 2010. During the year of 2010 we have gotten hundreds of rugs for cleaning, rugs for repair, and rugs for appraisal. We have seen some dirty rugs during this year that we haven't seen before in our 57 years in business. We really thought we have seen it all, until today. Today 4 different clients dropped of a rug each for cleaning. It has been the dirtiest day of 2010. We used up almost an entire bottle of sanitizer, 8 pairs of gloves, and washed our hands about 10 times. These oriental rugs definitely need professional deep cleaning and pet stain removal, as they are the dustiest and dirtiest oriental carpets I have personally seen in my lifetime. But since this is what we do and rug is our passion, this is another challenge that my company is taking. We have come to a conclusion that no stain is tough enough to withstand our professional deep cleaning. Our customers will be very happy with the results of these rugs. We also sold a 3 X 12 handmade Persian Hamedan runner.

Rug Cleaning, Repair and Appraisal and YouTube For Business

I always read and write to improve my knowledge of the field. We sell rugs and at the same time we do professional rug cleaning, rug repair, water damage restoration, pet stain removal, and rug appraisal.

I try to keep up with the technology and update myself on what is happening out there. I started reading a very useful book called YouTube For Business. I finished this book over the long Labor Day weekend and enjoyed it. I hope other competitors of mine do not read this post or if they do, they do not have time to read this book and act upon it.

We will surely use some of the advices this great book had and will use them for our rug business. This will give us a good edge.

A Busy Saturday In Our Rug Gallery

After being very slow for a few days, we had a very busy Saturday today. We were at work from 12:00 to 5:30 today. We had appointments with few customers. All of them showed up. One of them bought an 8 x 11 and a 2 x 8 rugs. Others had rugs for cleaning. Two girls also had a very fine Tabriz rug with water damage and color bleeding on it. A customer brought a very dirty Shag rug for cleaning.

A customer who had her rug cleaned by a dry cleaning store also brought in a very nice hand tufted rug which was damaged by the cleaning and wanted us to repair the rug and restore the damaged areas.

It was the first working Saturday of the year 2009 and a very busy one.

Carpet Cleaners in Los Angeles

Many carpet cleaners claim that they clean Oriental rugs while their real job is to clean wall to wall carpeting with portable cleaning machines or truck mount equipments. This is not real Oriental carpet and hand knotted or area rug cleaning.

First of all, the workers who go to different homes to clean wall to wall carpeting do not know rugs, their construction, their fiber, their dye and their age; therefore cannot tell whether the rugs would bleed, shrink or damage if they clean them with ordinary carpet cleaning method and chemicals. Second, this kind of cleaning would move the food stuff, protein, dust and dirt from the surface of the rug to the inner part of the pile. Of course the price of this type of low quality rug cleaning may look cheaper to the rug owners if they do not know the difference between professional rug cleaning and a cleaning done at home with regular carpet cleaners. Or maybe the owners know the difference but their concern is the price, while having a rug professionally cleaned is investing in preserving a valuable rug.

I know a little bit more about rugs than my average rug customers. Therefore I would like to share my knowledge of Oriental carpets with them. An educated customer can make a better decision in buying Oriental, Persian or area rugs. He or she can also use our other services better if educated.
