Cerfied Rug Specialist Los Angeles

I am in Dallas, Texas to attend a one-week rug school to become Certified Rug Specialist. This advanced course is offered every two years. I was extremely busy with work in Los Angeles, but did not want to miss this opportunity to learn, to share what I know about rugs with others and to become certified.

Today, we had the first day of the class. I loved it. The instructors are Ellen Amirkhan and Aaron Groseclose, both very knowledgeable and fun people. This class is the continuation of the other 3-day class I took in September 2008 in San Diego. We were 12 people in that class.

We covered many materials and topics today. The class starts everyday at 8:00 am and ends at 5:00 pm. It is very intensive, but participants like it. There are seven of us in this advanced rug class.

I am in my hotel room now and after finishing this post, I have to read two chapters from a rug book to review today's material and get ready for the tomorrow's class. Like the other class in September 2008, I am the only Iranian participating in this class!!

While I was in the class today and could not pick up my cell phone to answer, I was text messaging back and forth with my rug store in Los Angeles. We sold a rug today and received several rugs for cleaning and repair and I was being kept posted on what was happening there in my rug store. Isn't that great?! Using high tech communication possibilities in a very traditional sector such as Oriental rug business!! It is being present in different locations at the same time!
