Rug Inspection

At Rug Ideas we do thorough inspections of all rugs that come in before and after cleaning. Doing the inspection before cleaning helps us determine what type of stains we are dealing with so we know just what measures to take to get the best cleaning possible. We take hi-res digital photos before and after the cleaning to document any stained areas as well as how well the cleaning worked. Take a look at some before photos of a customer's rug below:

We also go the extra mile to spot stains if we find out that the customer has any pets in their home. Often times customers do not even know their pet has urinated on their rug unless a heavy smell comes along with it. If we find out the customer is a pet owner, we go over the rug with a UV light to spot any pee stains. Take a look below:
Urine shows up like neon on a rug that has been pee'd on, and we can immediately see on this rug that Fido had an accident. Our customers are sometimes shocked to see just how many times their pet has used their rug as a bathroom. Once we identify the trouble spots we know we need to pay special attention to them during the deep cleaning. All this attention to detail means your rug is getting the best possible care and cleaning. All in a days work at Rug Ideas, where we love rug!

Cleaning & Repair - Antique Malayer Hamedan Rug

A new customer of ours brought in a beautiful rug that needed some attention. The rug was a Malayer Hamedan rug and was 100 years old. It needed a professional deep cleaning as well as repair work done. Both ends and sides were in different stages of unraveling and needed securing and rebinding to get it's structure sound again. Take a look at some before pics below:
We first secured the rugs ends and sides to prevent any further unraveling from happening while we proceeded with the deep cleaning. After the deep cleaning, sanitizing and deodorizing was complete we put the rug in the hands of one of our master weavers so that the repairs could be completed. New Zealand wool was used for the sides and the work was all done by hand. The results are fabulous; take a look below:
This antique Malayer Hamedan rug now looks absolutely beautiful and is in great condition. The owners were actually speechless for a minute when they saw how good the rug looked after the cleaning and repairs.  They have since contacted us again to pickup a set of rugs they also have that need the same great attention to detail that Rug Ideas is known for. If you have a rug that needs some TLC, contact us at Rug Ideas so we can step you through your options for cleaning & repair!

Cleaning and Repair - Handknotted Rug

We had a return customer bring 4 handknotted pieces in recently to be deep cleaned; one of those pieces needed some extra attention. The ends of the rug in question had major unraveling happening and the design was already being lost. This advanced stage of unraveling needed to be stopped right away so that the rest of the rug could avoid such damage. Take a look at the before pics below:
We first secured the damaged areas so any further damage could be avoided while it was being deep cleaned. After the rug was finished going through our deep cleaning process, we started work on getting the ends into shape. One of our weavers did all the work by hand and the pics speak for themselves. Take a look below:
This handknotted rug looks great because of the deep cleaning and also is now strong and secure with the work done to repair the ends. Our customer was once again thoroughly excited with the results and was happy that the damage that had progressively getting worse over the last couple years, had stopped. If you have a rug that needs some extra attention bring it in to Rug Ideas so we can help you save and preserve your works of art!

Shag Rug - Cleaning and Repair Work

A new customer brought in his shag rug that he keeps in his home recording studio as it needed some Rug Ideas attention. Firstly, the shag was very dirty and had not been cleaned in 7 years. It had accumulated lots of stains and was worse for wear. The bottom segment of the rug had become torn and it really took away from the aesthetic. Take a look below:
The shag first went through our deep cleaning process, which involves dusting, complete wet washing and natural drying in the sun. This did wonders on all those stains! We then had one of our weavers cut above the tear in the shag and bind the whole side by hand. Take a look at the fantastic results below:
This shag looks brand new! Our customer was so ecstatic he is bringing in 2 Persian rugs of his next week for a cleaning. If you need the same Rug Ideas touch, call us or come into our showroom... we're glad to help!

Dog Troubles & A Deep Cleaning Solution

A new customer of ours recently brought in her favorite rug that had been soiled by her dog. Not only had her dog urinated on the rug but had also thrown up on various places on it. She had tried a home cleanser but she said it only seemed to make the problem worse. The rug also had a trouble area at the middle of 1 end of the rug. Take a look below:
This rug went through our deep cleaning process which cleans, sanitizes and deodorizes the entire carpet. Color stabilizers were used before the washing began to prevent color bleeding. When the rug was done drying the vibrancy of the colors looked absolutely great. We then had one our of weavers secure the rip at the end so that unraveling would not continue. Take a look at the results below:
When the owner came in to pick up her rug yesterday, she was ecstatic at how vibrant the rug looked and how much it looked just as it did when it was brand new. If you have a rug that has had an encounter with your pet, bring it in to Rug Ideas where we can help bring it back to life!

Sarouk Rug Cleaning - WOW!

A family came in with a few rugs recently; one of them was a Persian Sarouk Rug that had MANY stains. Take a look at some pics below:
The Sarouk was a mess, littered with stains. The customers opted for a deep cleaning which we started soon afterwards. Our facility handles all types of rugs and we knew just how to tackle this stain problem for the Sarouk. Take a look at the results below:
The stains have all been eliminated and the rug looks outstanding! The owners could not believe we were able to get all the different stains out and gave us a testimonial shortly afterwards. We were extremely happy with the results and we now have our customers confidence for any more rugs of their's that need cleaning or repair. All there is to say is, "WOW!"

Come See Our Rug Selection For Sale!

At Rug ideas we have a large inventory of rugs ranging from simple machine made area rugs to antique 100 year old Persian and Oriental rugs. Whatever your taste, we are sure to have a rug to fit your needs. Take a look at 2 Gabbeh rugs that a customer recently purchased:
These Gabbeh rugs are made by ladies of the Qashqai tribe in southwest Iran with hand spun wool and natural dye. The designs are simple like kids' paintings which gives some a certain peace of mind. They are nature friendly(sometimes called "green rugs") and bring a touch of style when decorating any room in the household. While they are tribal art they look very contemporary and modern.
We sold these 2 pieces to a client in Colorado and will ship them shortly. Both rugs are from our own looms imported prior to the embargo which went into effect on September 29, 2010. Whether you are looking for a handmade Gabbeh rug like the ones above or any other kind, come see our wide selection for sale at our Los Angeles Showroom. You'll be glad you did!
